Benefit Game in UK for American basketball player

American Brian Dux, playing for the Guildford Heat Basketball Club in Surrey, UK, has been in a coma for two weeks after suffering serious injuries in a car crash, with fears that this may lead to permanent disability.

The basketball club is arranging a 'Brian Dux Benefit Game' on 28 December. The game will be between Guidford Heat and a BBL All Stars team, to be played at Guildford Spectrum.

All proceeds from ticket sales and sales of other items will go to Brian's family, who have flown from the States to be with Brian.

Brian's team members' morale has been severely dented by his condition, and the team lost heavily in a European match game against Spain's Jovenut Badalona on Tuesday.

All best wishes to Brian.

Sampras the returning hero

Pete Sampras, the underdog, made a thrilling comeback in the final exhibition match against Federer in Macau, winning 7-6(8-6), 6-4.

This was a marvellous finish as he had earlier lost two matches in Seoul and Kuala Lumpur. Federer conceded that Sampras had hardly made any mistakes in this final match.

Let's hope we see more of the retired former champion in action.

Green Bay Packers Unbeaten

The Packers have claimed victory over the Detroit Lions with a 37-26 win on Thanksgiving Day in Detroit.

Though the start was uneventful, the Packers moved into a high-powered attack. The Lions made touchdowns in the fourth quarter, too late to save the game.

Brett Favre set a new record after throwing three touchdown passes. Even Lions quarterback Jon Kitna remarked, ''He's the greatest ever."
